On our trip to VA, we all got to indulge in some outdoor fun that is hard to come by here in sunny, flat, hardwood tree-less florida.

First Look at Fall
on a quick trip from Blacksburg we went to Mountain Lake. it is the resort where Dirty Dancing was filmed.
This is/was the ‘lake’ in Mountain Lake. When I saw this I thought it was one of the saddest things I have seen in my life. A once beautiful lake drained. The crazy thing is, it is just nature at its most amazing. This particular lake does this on a cycle. ’They’ are not sure when it will refill, but they are pretty sure it will.

I don’t think you can see the clutch my husband Joey has on the children. He was like seriously stressed out that they were going to fall off the mountain. He loves us.

Ohhhhhh. I am a little teary, seeing you and your family at this spot we trekked to before dawn on a weekday school morning in college to watch the sun (not) rise in the misty mountains. I was just talking about missing the mountains tonight at a party. So happy you re-visited them. Love you!
